What is Consentium?

Consentium is a crypto wallet, chat and community app that rewards you for your engagement. The crypto wallet allows you to send and receive CSM, BTC and ETH transactions. Within the same app, you can chat with other users, create groups, and explore channels. The best part - through an innovative Community Monetization Model, you can get rewarded for being a wallet and chat active user.

What mobile devices does Consentium support?

The Consentium mobile app will be available on Android in August 2018 and iOS in September 2018. If you want us to let you know once the download links become available, please subscribe to our e-mail list via the website.

How many languages is Consentium available in?

Consentium is currently available in the following four languages: English, Chinese Simplified/Traditional, Japanese and Korean. Arabic is scheduled for a later release.

How do I invite my friends to download the Consentium app?

The app automatically displays all of the contacts from your phone. You can click on the top right corner and start a new chat and you will then see a purple button that says “invite” next to every contact name. You can click “invite”, and then select whether you want to send the person a message through Facebook messenger or text message.


How do I contact the support team?

Email us at [email protected] any time or leave us a message through the Contact Form on the website. You can also access the “Support” option from the side menu on the mobile apps. We’ll get back to you within 48 hours.

How do I create an account?

It is a simple one-time registration process that takes only a few minutes to set up. After downloading the app, you will be prompted to fill in your personal details, such as; username, full legal name, email, mobile number, password and a transaction PIN.
You will then be asked to set up some security questions and verify your mobile number by entering an OTP (One-Time Password) into the mobile app. The OTP will be sent to you via SMS (text message).

What do I do if I didn’t receive the OTP via SMS?

Please hit the “resend” button. If you’ve tried this a few times and still didn’t work, please email us at [email protected] with your account number so we can look into it.

Why do I need to create a transaction PIN?

As a part of Consentium’s first-time login process, it is important to create a pin code to ensure enhanced security when making a crypto transfer.

What if I forget my password?

Step 1: Click on “Forgot Password?” at the Consentium Log In Account page
Step 2: Enter your mobile number in the space provided, and you will receive an OTP to reset your password
Step 3: Key in the OTP provided to you to verify your registered mobile number
Step 4: Create a new password and click “submit”

Can I change my profile information later?

You can access your profile through the side menu at any time. You can change all of your information except for your username and mobile number. The information you can edit includes: profile photo, email, full name, SMS settings, discreet timer, and language of preference.

What does the “discreet timer” setting mean?

When you are inside the chat feature you will see a little mask icon next to the box to type your messages. If you click on the mask icon, your message will self destruct within certain number of seconds. The number of seconds for your messages to self destruct is dictated by your discreet timer. If you want your messages to never be deleted, then make sure you don’t click the mask icon when chatting someone or a group.

Can I change my password and/or transaction PIN?

You can change or retrieve your password and PIN by accessing your “profile settings” from the side menu. If you click on profile > security > change password or PIN, you will be asked for the new information and an OTP again.

How can I change the language of the app?

You can change the language of your Consentium app at any time from your Profile > Language. Consentium is currently available in the following four languages: English, Chinese Simplified/Traditional, Japanese and Korean. We will let you know as soon as we have more languages available.


How do I message someone or create a 1-to-1 chat?

Step 1 : Go to the ‘Chats’ icon, and click on the “+” sign.
Step 2 : Choose from the drop down menu Create new “Chat”.
Step 3 : Click on a contact name from your contact list and start chatting. You can search from Consentium users by name or username.

If you are trying to message someone that does not have the Consentium app yet installed, then you can still look for anyone you have saved on your phone contact list. Once you find the name of the person you are trying to invite to Consentium, click on the purple “invite” button and select how to send the person a message (Facebook messenger or SMS).

How do I know if someone has sent me a message?

You will see a notification on the homepage and we will also display a small red circle with a number next to the chat icon. The number represents the number of unread messages you have at any given time.

What do those ticks mean on the Consentium chat feature?

One grey tick ✓ — the message has been sent to your friend
Two grey ticks ✓✓ — the message has been delivered to your friend and they have been notified if you allowed for notifications.
Two blue ticks ✓✓ — the message has been read and your friend has opened the conversation with the message.
These are delivered status notifications for messages, to help users know the status of their message outcome.

How do I create a group chat?

Step 1 : Go to the ‘Chats’ icon, and click on the “+” sign
Step 2 : Choose from the drop down menu Create new “group”
Step 3 : Choose and click on multiple contacts from your contact list, create a group and start chatting.

How do I create a private group chat?

Step 1 : Go to the ‘Chats’ icon, and click on the “+” sign
Step 2 : Choose from the drop down menu Create new “private group”
Step 3 : Choose and click on multiple contacts from your contact list, create a group and start chatting.

What is the difference between a group and a private group?

Both are groups intended for multiple users to communicate with each other. The main difference is that private groups are not searchable within the app and can only be joined through an invitation.

How can I find a group I want to join?

If the group is open, then you can find a group by searching the name. If the group is not open then you will need to ask the admin of the group to add you.

How can I join a private group?

The only way to join a private group is by getting an invitation from a group admin.

What does it mean when I see an application is required to join a group?

If an application is required, that means you can request to join a group. Then the admin of the group will have to approve your request before you officially join the team. You will be notified once your request is approved or denied.

Besides typing a message, what else can I do within an individual chat and group?

The following are all the functionalities you can enjoy within a 1-to-1 chat or group:
You can type or send a voice message. You will just need to click on the microphone icon. If you click on the mask icon within the message box you can activate the option for your messages to self destruct. On the right side, next to the microphone, there is a camera icon. If you click on it you can take a photo or select one from your phone.
Finally, if you click on the “+” icon on the left side, you can share your location, send a crypto transfer, share a contact from your list, take a video, send a file from your gallery, or attach a document.

What is the difference between a self-destructing chat message and a regular chat message?

All messages on the Consentium app use end-to-end encryption. A self-destructing chat is meant for users that can order messages, photos, videos and files to self-destruct in a set amount of time after they have been read or opened by the recipient. The message will then disappear from both your and your friend's accounts. Self-destructing messages cannot be forwarded when enabling this feature in chats - with regular messages, chats can be saved, read, forward and shared at a later time with other users.

How do I create a self-destructing message, and how does it work on Consentium?

Step 1: Go to your “Profile Settings” in the Consentium app, and select the “Discreet Timer”. The default time given is “15 seconds” for the discreet timer option. The timer option allows for a discreet message to self-destruct in the given time.
If you wish to change the default option, you can select your choice of ‘time in seconds’ and click on ‘change’ and save your changes.
Step 2: Go back to your “Chats” icon on the main homepage and click on it. Then choose a current chat or create a chat.
Step 3: In your chat message text box, there is a secret chat icon which looks like a “mask”, click on that icon.
Step 4: The text box will be highlighted in ‘red’ to indicate the message being sent is discreet and will self-destruct. Then start typing your text message in the chat text box,
Step 5: Click on send, the discreet message will self-destruct in your chat interface after its allotted time.
Step 6: From an end user perspective, your contact will receive a notification “secret message from X tap to view”, once they open the message, the timer starts and after the allotted time the messages will disappear from the user’s device.

What is the maximum number of users that I can add to my groups?

The maximum number of users you can add to each of your groups is 500.

Am I able to mute my chat notifications in a group or 1-to-1 chats?

Yes, you are able to mute your notifications on both groups and 1-to-1 chats.


What is the difference between a group and a channel?

Groups allow for all of its members to chat, comment and send files. In a channel, only the admins are allowed to post messages or files.

How do I create a channel?

Step 1 : Go to the ‘Channels’ icon, and click on the “+” sign
Step 2 : Under “Channel Settings”, change your “Channel Name” and add an photo icon, then click “Next”
Step 3 : Choose and click on multiple contacts from your contact list, create a channel and start sharing content.

What are Ultra groups?

Ultra groups are, groups of users that have more than ‘1000’ in number. In the Consentium app, you are allowed to have only ‘ultra groups’ in channels.

What is the maximum number of users that I can add to my channels?

You can add unlimited number of users to your channels.

Can other Consentium users subscribe to my channel?

Yes, other users of the Consentium app may send you a request to add them to your channel. You will receive a notification alert on both the main “Homepage” and the “Channel Homepage”. Please click on “accept” if you wish to add a new user to your channel network.

How can I find a channel I want to join?

You can search for any channel by name. All channels are searchable. You can also discover popular channels by clicking on the search bar inside the channels section.

How can I join a channel?

Although all channels are searchable, some will allow you to join directly and others will tell you your request has been submitted. We will notify you once an admin of the channel approves or denies your request to join.

What does the channel setting “application required” mean?

This means that when users find your channel they have to submit a request to join (instead of joining automatically). Then an admin of the channel has to approve the request to join.

How do I mute the notifications from a channel?

If you open the channel and click on the name on the top menu bar, you will see the channel settings. There you will have an option to turn on and off the notifications.

How do I unsubscribe from a channel?

To leave a channel you will have to open the channel settings by clicking on its name on the top bar. Then you will have the option to unsubscribe or leave the channel.

Can I see who else is subscribed to the same channel?

You can click on the channel’s name on the top menu bar to see the full list of members.


What is a cryptocurrency wallet?

A cryptocurrency wallet is a software program that stores private and public keys and interacts with various blockchain to enable users to send and receive digital currency and monitor their balance. If you want to use CSM, BTC or ETH on the Consentium app, you will need to have a multi-cryptocurrency wallet.

Consentium is a multi-cryptocurrency wallet because it allows you to send and receive three different digital currencies: Consentium (CSM), Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH).

How do I know what is my current balance?

You can see your balance for any of the currencies on the homepage and the wallet feature. At any point in time we display the value you have for each cryptocurrency with their equivalent value in USD. We refresh the value USD equivalent value every few minutes.

How do I send currency using Consentium’s multi-crypto wallet feature?

Step 1: Click on the “Wallet” icon from the Homepage of the app. Step 2: To create a transfer, please select on the option “SEND” and click on the “type of wallet” you would like to make a transaction with, for example; ETH BTC or CSM.
Step 3: Once you have clicked ‘CSM’, it will take you to the “Send Consentium” page, please choose between the “Scan QR code” or “adding a wallet address”, or “select a username” option.
Step 4: Then enter your currency amount in either “CSM” or equivalent in “USD”, then click “Next”.
Step 5: To confirm a transfer, please confirm on the transaction details and click “Confirm”.
Step 6: To verify a transfer, you will need to enter your “Transaction PIN” and then click on “Verify”. If you forgot your transaction PIN just click on “Forgot transaction PIN”.
Step 7: You will be notified when your “transaction is successful”. Please click on “Done” after that to go back to the homepage.

Can I send cryptocurrencies to a user or wallet address outside Consentium?

Yes. You can send CSM, BTC, and ETH to any wallet. You will have the option to enter a wallet address or scan a QR code.

How much is the transaction fee charged by Consentium?

The fees are only charged to senders when sending a new transfer. They vary depending on the type of transfer as follows:
Transfers within Consentium users (wallet addresses)= 1%
Transfers to external users (wallet addresses) = we don’t charge you a fee, but then usually around 0.1% (or more) is deducted automatically from the smart contracts.

Note: Consentium is not responsible for any additional fees that other platforms may charge to send or receive digital currencies.

How do I receive currency using Consentium’s multi-crypto wallet feature?

Step 1: Click on the “Wallet” icon from the Homepage of the app.
Step 2: To receive Consentium, Click on the “type of wallet” you would like to receive a transaction from, for example; CSM and then select on the option “RECEIVE”.
Step 3: It will take you to the “Receive Consentium” page. Please choose between sharing your “QR code” or “ sharing your wallet address” option. You can copy it or share it directly through any of your messaging apps.
Step 4: You will be notified that your “TRANSACTION IS SUCCESSFUL”, and that you have received the CSM amount from your contact, please click on “Done” after that.

Can I receive cryptocurrencies from a user or wallet outside Consentium?

Yes. You will have to go to your Wallet and then select the currency you want to receive. You can copy the wallet address, share it directly from the app, or have the other person scan your QR code.

How long does it take for my transfers to be completed?

We process the transfers right away but the settlement time may vary depending on how long the specific transfer takes to be confirmed. We will constantly refresh the status of the transfer on your app so you will know as soon as the transfer is successful.

What do I do if I have received a message “TRANSACTION FAILED”?

Step 1: Please try to resend the currency amount again by clicking on “Try again”.
Step 2: Next, enter the (one-time password) OTP we sent to your mobile number to complete the process, and then click on “Submit”.
Step 3: You will be required to “Create a New Transaction PIN” for your account. Please remember this PIN, as you will need it for all future transactions. Then click on “SAVE”.
Step 4: Next you will need to create a new password for your account. Then click on “SAVE”.
Step 5: If all the steps above fail, please contact the Consentium Team for support!

Where can I see the history of my transfers?

The bottom menu bar has an option called “Transactions”. If you click on it you will see all of your transfers, with the most recent one at the top. They are all displayed in chronological order. If you click on any transfer, you will be able to see all the transfer details, including the cryptocurrency value, whether it was a sent or received transfer, the equivalent amount in USD, the fee, sender/receiver, date and time stamp, address, and transaction ID. You will also see at the top whether the transfer has been successful or not.

If you want to find a specific transfer, you can use the search bar at the top or filter your transfers by date or type of digital currency.

Can I purchase cryptocurrencies using USD?

We currently do not allow the conversion from fiat currencies to cryptocurrencies, although we are working on it. For now you will need to purchase your digital currency on any exchange and then transfer the tokens to your Consentium app.

How can I migrate my cryptocurrencies from other wallets to Consentium?

You will have to send a transfer from your other wallet to your Consentium app. Remember you can find your wallet address on the “Wallet” menu option > Receive > select currency.

Is there a minimum or maximum amount I can transfer?

The minimum amount for any transfer is equivalent to $10.00 USD. You will need to have that amount plus the fee available on your wallet before initiating a transfer. There is not a maximum transfer limit or any other restrictions.


What are Consentium(CSM) Tokens?

Consentium (CSM) Tokens are based on the Ethereum platform and are built on ERC20 Token Standards. Ethereum is the world’s largest, leading smart contract blockchain. Ethereum was specifically chosen as it offers an efficient balance of speed and token liquidity. Currently, the currency for processing the Ethereum is known as Ether.

Is Consentium based on cloud? If so, how secure is that?

Yes, the Consentium app is based on a decentralized cloud platform. AWS is the running platform for our cloud storage and services. It is extremely secure and a top-of-mind cloud product for both enterprise and customer solutions.

Who can see me ‘online’?

Friends can only see you online as soon as you open the app and you send them a message in a one-on-one chat or in a group where you both are members.

I lost my phone. What should I do?

Please notify us via the support option within the app or via email so we can immediately place your account on hold while we help you change your mobile number.

How can I delete my Consentium account?

Please notify us via the support option within the app or via email so we can immediately help you. Before requesting us to close your account make sure all of your funds have been successfully transferred to another wallet.

Why can’t I use Consentium in the US or the European Union?

We’re slowly working on a global rollout, but for now Consentium is only available in Singapore, China, Japan, and Korea. This is due to regulatory requirements that we need to comply with on every jurisdiction before making the app available.


What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin (BTC) is a new kind of currency that can be sent from one person to another without the need for a trusted third party such as a centralized bank or other financial institution; it is the first global, decentralized currency.

Bitcoin was originally released in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto as a piece of software and a paper describing how it works. Because Bitcoin is fundamentally a software, anybody can run it on their computer, and therefore participate in a global economy.

What is a Bitcoin Blockchain?

The Bitcoin Blockchain is a distributed, public ledger that contains the history of every bitcoin transaction. Anyone can download a copy of the blockchain, and it can be inspected to trace the path of bitcoins from one bitcoin transaction to another. It should be noted that while there is a record of every bitcoin transaction ever made, these transactions are not inherently linked to real life identities. For this reason, Bitcoin is considered pseudonymous.


What is Ethereum?

Ethereum is a decentralized blockchain platform founded in 2014 by Vitalik Buterin. Like Bitcoin, Ethereum is an open-source project that is not owned or operated by a single individual. This means that anyone, anywhere can download the software and begin interacting with the network.

In the Ethereum blockchain, Ether is the type of crypto token that fuels the platform. It is also used by application developers to pay for transaction fees and services on the Ethereum network.

In the Ethereum platform, users are allowed to make and operate 'smart contracts' without having to trust each other or use a middleman. Smart contracts are applications that run exactly as programmed without any possibility of downtime, censorship, fraud, or third party interference - a smart contract will work exactly the same every time it is used.

Ethereum aims to take the decentralization, security, and openness afforded by blockchains and extend those to virtually anything that can be computed.
